Back to Basics is a women-led, non-profit organization based in Kenya, dedicated to supporting communities especially women, for success by engaging them in sustainable development through building on what works. We shine the spotlight on their plights by getting the basics right.

From the bustling streets of Nairobi to the rural landscapes of Muranga and Nyandarua, our initiatives have touched countless lives, fostering resilience and growth through sustainable development.

Our Impact

Youth Programs

One of the major focus of the BTB Org, is a youth empowerment strategy that integrates attitudinal, structural and cultural processes through which many young people have gained the ability, authority and agency to make decisions, implement change in their own lives and the lives of other people, including peers and adults.

Women Program

Through our women empowerment programs, we have equipped over 30,000 women with essential skills and resources, enabling them to achieve economic independence and lead their communities towards sustainable development. These initiatives have transformed lives, fostering resilience and creating opportunities for a brighter future.

Environmental Stewardship

Our environmental stewardship initiatives have led to the planting of over 400,000 trees, significantly restoring local ecosystems and combating climate change. These efforts have not only enhanced biodiversity but also provided sustainable livelihoods for numerous communities.

Our community development

Our community development programs have supported numerous projects that generate sustainable income and improve the quality of life for participants. These initiatives have empowered communities to become self-reliant, fostering economic growth and social well-being.
